Mar Vista is a neighborhood in L.A.’s Westside area that has a highly diverse population. Its boundaries include the San Diego Freeway, Culver City, Walgrove Avenue, and Santa Monica Boulevard.

This residential and commercial community has two private schools, a public library, and is the home of Venice High School. The Mar Vista Recreation Center offers many extracurricular activities including: a baseball diamond; indoor and outdoor basketball courts; an auditorium; indoor gymnasium; outdoor soccer field with AstroTurf; and outdoor roller hockey rink. This facility also has picnic tables, an outdoor pool, and barbecue pits.

Interesting fact: Mar Vista has one of the county’s highest percentages for divorced people and never-married men. It also has a large group of veterans who served in the Korean War or World War II.

Home prices average between $1million and $2 million. There is a variety of quaint Spanish architecturally designed homes as well as fabulous contemporary houses here.
